Active triangulation

A method to determine the 3D geometry of real-world objects. In this method, the light or laser source is positioned at a fixed distance from a sensor or camera. As light/laser is reflected from the scanned object, it falls on the camera. The position of points on the object can be calculated using the angle of the reflected light. By determining the position of multiple points on the object, a 3D image of the object can be reconstructed.
